Car Parts Portal for Motorists

Auto repair shops have a new knowledge portal to recommend to interested customers. At www.mein-autolexikon.de, car owners can access detailed and easy-to-understand information about the parts and components in their cars. The car technology portal provides an insight into the complexity of modern cars and sharpens the user’s awareness of the importance of regular professional car maintenance.

The portal was launched by VREI (Verein Freier Ersatzteilemarkt e.V.), the association of leading German components manufacturers and car industry suppliers. It contains first-hand information received from the association’s member companies. ContiTech provided information on components such as timing belts, V-belts and V-ribbed belts.

Vivid descriptions are supplemented by pictures showing where the component is located in the vehicle and the spare part. A 3D illustration of a transparent car helps users identify specific parts.
